Handgun courses

This is a LIVE FIRE firearms course which teaches you the basics skills of the defensive use of a handgun.

Rapid presentations from the holster, target acquisition and controlled shots on target are the foundation of the curriculum.

Your training includes the following:
• Safe gun handling
• Marksmanship - hitting your target quickly and accurately by blending speed and accuracy
• Firing Stances - defend attacks from all directions
• Loading and Unloading your firearm
• Proper grip
• The 4 Miracles of Marksmanship - Sight Alignment, Sight Picture Trigger Control and Follow Through
• Threat Engagement from Close Quarters (arms length) distance  to 25 yards under Time Pressure
• Rapid Holster Presentations - presenting your weapon rapidly from a holster
• Controlled pairs - dramatically increasing follow-up shots and rate of fire with accuracy
• Shooting from the “ready position” (the most used combat position)
• Shooting from a concealment garment
• Engaging multiple targets
• Body Armor Drills
• Tactical and emergency reloading
• Malfunctions
• After-engagement actions
• Lectures

This course is designed around tactical Scenarios.

Students will be introduced to mild to advanced stress situations.
We will use Force - on -  Force real world situations using Simuntions®.

This course includes a FORCE on FORCE module. Normally reserved for law enforcement training, we are introducing our students to the use of Special Tactical Firearms called Simunitions. These real firearms shoot special wax marking bullets. The marking affect signifies a shot on target.

FX Force-on-Force System

FX marking cartridges are a line of training ammunition that can be fired through standard firearms. The cartridges come in 9mm/.38 and 5.56mm calibers and fire using a special pressurized gas system for a reduced velocity. The projectile is filled with a detergent-based, water-soluble colored marking compound, similar to a paintball. The projectile breaks upon impact, marking the target and allowing trainers to assess the accuracy and lethality of the hits. This system is used extensively in the United States Marine Corps where it is known as SESAMS[1][2] (Special Effect Small Arms Marking System).

• Shooting 1 handed - Firing side and support side
• Shooting on the move in a dynamic setting
• Ground fighting shooting
• Stress shooting
• Failure to stop drills

• Shooting from the “ready position” (the most used combat position) and “holster”
• Shoot House scenarios
• Room Clearing
• Shooting From Concealment
• Tactical reloading and emergency reloading - one handed and support side only
• Malfunctions - - one handed and support side only
• After-engagement actions

NIGHT SHOOT
This course will include a Night Shoot.

Course will teach the following:
• Understanding darkness
• Engaging targets in Low light and No light
• Use of flashlights or weapons mounted lights
• Shoot - No Shoot scenarios
• Low light weapons manipulations
• Low light Tactical Scenarios
