Hi Jon, It was great meeting and speaking with you today at Lone Wolfe Shooting Range. You have a great challenge in teaching and training armed citizens to defend and protect themselves and loved ones. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

I never tought the two day level one handgun course was enough to learn me how to shoot and react the way it did. John said some things at the beginning of the course that I didn't believe, but in the end he was right, thanks! I had alot of fun and have much more respect for guns and the people who use them! Thanks again!!

As a teacher of almost 20 years, first as a martial arts instructor who worked with Recon Marines at Camp Pendleton, and now as a college professor, I know quality instruction when I find it. John Kern is an excellent firearms instructor. Most of us had very, very limited firearms experience, and not only did he turn us into competent marksman, he better prepared us to handle the stress of an armed adversary.

I completed the two day level one handgun course. Really enjoyed this class and will definately go back for more. The instructors are impressively knowledgeable and have a genuine interest in giving you skills to make you more tactically efficient and safe. Thanks John and Nevin I will see you guys again soon.

Firstly, Thank You to John and CTA for an exceptional experience. I have gained an enormous amount of confidence and humility. It was great to be taught by two master instructors with unquestioned expertise who always made me feel positive although I gave them ample reason to pull their hair out and scream. They made this intense, comprehensive, difficult course fun while alway stressing the three most important factors in the proper use of a handgun: Safety, Safety and Safety. I am a physician who has 30 years of shooting under my belt. I took the 2 day Level I Handgun class this weekend and discovered that I had ingrained 30 years of bad, unsafe shooting practices that may have, at some time, hurt me or someone else if I continued in the same manner. I attended with six other family members some of whom had never even seen a handgun before and one who had been an Army sniper After two days of gruelling practice, practice, practice we were tested on our newly acquired safety and shooting skills. The results astounded me. There was a direct correlation between our "experience" vs results. The test showed that after taking the course, those who had never used a gun before were much faster, accurate and SAFER than those who had. I can only conclude that it is much easier to teach a novice than one who has already developed bad habits. As a result, I highly recommend taking the CTA course as soon as possible after making the decision to own or use a handgun. I, for one, will take it AGAIN to reinforce safe gun use.

Just finished two day level 1 combat handgun. I'm retired military, but didn't carry in service, qualified expert pistol (and last shots) in 1991, until about 3 months ago. I had 500 or so rounds under my belt and was doing serious damage to the 9 inch paper plate...at 15', on an indoor range, standing behind a bench. Not so great @ 7yards, anything beyond that - forget it! After "graduating" yesterday, learning timed long shots, learning safety, safety, safety. Thank you John, for proving my gun can shoot straight, thank you Nevin for your "baby's butt". I don't know who was shooting my weapon yesterday afternoon, but minus 12 out of 215...I'm satisfied for now. I WILL be back! And I hope to get some friends out there to you as well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for lessons for life!

I attended the recent two-day handgun defensive training course in Chino, hosted by John and Rick. The course was thoughtfully crafted and well taught by these experienced professionals. It was plain that these men sought to give of their best to those attending, and the value added was well in excess of the price paid. Safety and control of weapon systems while under extreme stress was THE order of the day. . . . . I commend this course to those looking to better prepare themselves for that situation and those few seconds when circumstance may call upon them to defend themselves and/or the lives of others.

My son and I had a great time.John and Rick made the class safe and fun.the shooting under stress/time opened my eyes to how hard it is to find your target and get your shots off quick and on target.Fun and safe class.I am going to go again with my brother in law.thank you guys. Dennis and Kyle

My first real "on-hands" Basic Handgun class with CTA gave me the confidence and reassurance that future courses with them will be and must be part of my life. Not only was it full of facts and knowledge by the trainers, it was beyond belief how safety plays the biggest part of owning a weapon, which was carefully monitored by the instructor at all times, and one of my fears in attending an open range course. Since I was the only woman in the class, John made me fill as important as the next student. I strongly believe that with continued classes with only CTA, I will gain the ability to protect all that is around me. Even with the 110+ heat in the desert, port-a-pottys, and PBJ instant sandwiches...it was an AMAZING class, with over-the-top QUALIFIED instructors, PROFESSIONAL teaching experiences, and my fellow classmates were awesome! My appreciation and a big shout out to you all..YOU'RE THE BEST! Thanks to John(my General on the Range), Glen, the knowledge gained by your presentations, and Nevin(my guardian angel).

I'm returning to marksmanship and weapons training after many years of inactivity. I was impressed by the CTA professional staff and the instruction provided. I'll be a continuing student in the future.

I can't stress enough the importance of getting firearms training, and Glen from Combat Tactical Academy is one of the finest instructors I've ever had the privilege of working with. The facility this class was taught at was amazing (Swanson Tactical). I will definitely be attending more classes from CTA in the near future.

If you are looking for a defensive handgun course - this is a great one. IĆ¢??ve attended a number of defensive handgun trainings. This course still challenged my knowledge and abilities. You will gain shooting skills and tactical knowledge vital to your success. It also highlighted some of the range mentality I had learned at other trainings that may not work in a real-world self defense situation. Jon and Chauncy are excellent!

Great Class. I plan on taking more classes. This was my 4th firearms school and I have learned a ton from all of them. The facility was amazing as we had real bathrooms, we were protected from the elements (rain, sun, mud, sand) and had a lot of fun while learning life saving skills. Glen has an awesome talent for teaching, he brings a lot of experience and skill to the table while very effectively communicating to his students.

Basic Handgun was an EXCELLENT course! I came in afraid of guns, scared at the range, clueless about all things guns...and two days later I was comfortable, excited, empowered, and capable with my gun. GREAT JOB Glen and John (and Roland). Thanks!!

I have been through several "beginner courses" over the years and I have never found a better class than Combat Tactical Academy. The attention to detail and the "little things" really stand out with the Professionals and CTA. My wife was a beginner shooter and they have taught to confidence in shooting with precision. I will be attending future classes with ONLY CTA.

I loved the course! I want to bring my friends and family. I think that everyone needs to take advantage of this. Thank you for the great tips. All the practical training helped me with feeling comfortable about the thoughts of carrying my gun with me.

The course work is serious, safe and fun. I have been through the beginning course twice now and have seen everyone, from rank novice to experienced shooters get valuble knowledge and experience from the class. Its a no brainer that anyone can point and shoot. But what CT does is give you the breath of understand in how, why and mechanics to do it with confidence and finess. After taking the course work, I have discovered a new practical connecting passion that does bridge a gap between people of all backgrounds. Funny to think that the potential use of deadly force can really bring more peace and connection between strangers. As a civilian, I was delighted to discover that CT trainning feels like all the benefits of police and military weapon drills without the paper work or people shooting at me.

What a great team Jon and Glen have put together...!!! These guys are the real deal...they know their stuff and know how to effectively present and teach the techniques critical to self defense. I highly recommend attending their training classes and learning the proper way to utilize a handgun in defending your family. Many thanks to Jon, Glen, Chauncy, and Roland for a great experience...!!!

I recently attended Combat Tacticals basic handgun. I have taken a lot of various training course this one with John and Glen is hands down the best course I have ever been to. The combination of humor , professionalism , safety and content was beyond any expectations . The best part about it was the price , it was so cheap it felt free. I would not even consider firearms training any place other than Combat Tactical. AAAA+++
